Ensure the stairs are flat (use cartridge adhesive to make good any irregularities). |

Remove any debris and make sure the stairs are dry and clean.

Check the nosing for a good fit by placing on the correct stair, and then mark through the drill holes – fitter must ensure the nosing is pushed hard against the riser. |

Remove the nosing and drill and plug the stairs. |

Apply cartridge adhesive to the underside of the nosing and reposition on the step. Remove and let it stand for approximately 15 mins to help re3duce curing time.

Apply insert plug with a drop of adhesive.

To ensure the stairnosings keep their appearance, they should be cleaned weekly, more frequently in areas of heavy traffic. |

Build up of dirt and grease can prove hazardous.

Inserts and uPVC can be cleaned with a mild detergent diluted with water on a slightly damp cloth, then wipe dry with a clean cloth. |

Aluminium can be lightly burnished with steel wool. |

Polishes will reduce anti-slip properties and solvent cleaners are not suitable.
